Learning what I Enjoy

It started off simple enough, a little writing project for a class when I was sixteen, learning about taking a title, and creating an article out of it.

Over the years, I discovered that when I wanted to unwind, relax, or just forget about things for a while, I would write. When I realized that I was doing it for my own enjoyment, my writing increased along with my need to learn about things. If it was something that I found interesting, I would learn everything I could about it. I would learn about mountain ranges and the areas around them. I would learn about blue holes in the ocean. I would learn about places I wanted to visit, (Tuscany region in Italy, is huge on that list). I would learn about people in history. And I would learn about one of my favorite subjects, nature.

When I say nature, I mean it in the broader sense of the word to include the outdoors, and the animals that live among the various environs. The animals in the world are so interesting, that I find that I can still, years later, want to understand more about them. The Komodo Dragon, I find so interesting it absorbed a lot of my time, before shifting my attention to monitor lizards in general. It did not matter what the creature was that I was interested in, I needed to learn more.

When I created So’Var, I wanted one fact about the animals of our world, to stand out; they are animals. Beasts. In the past, stepping out into the wild meant that you were taking your life in your hands, with no guarantee of the outcome. I wanted the animals and beasts of So’Var to not only, keep this aspect, I wanted it to be further developed into a more, driven, point of their nature.

In doing this, I started learning what I truly enjoyed about writing. The creation of something. The development of it.

I do many of my posts, to speak to you. To try and help, if I can, in any small way. The things you enjoy, can forge themselves into your very being. Becoming a part of you in a way, never truly understood until the moment when it is needed most. I ask you to look around you, see what it is that you enjoy. These enjoyments can become something much more for you, if you allow them to.

Please find the subject that you enjoy, no matter what it is, and aim it towards doing something to allow yourself to bring forth a special aspect of you.

Learn more. Enjoy what you do.
