Wizard & Sumo 1

The differences I find in things, are usually what tend to interest me in them.

Like the difference between Muay Thai, and Sumo.

Muay Thai has the longer engagements, brutal strikes, and visual techniques that are easy to follow, and enjoy.

Sumo, is a more explosive, quick, and at the same time, subtle, art.

Watching Sumo for the first time, you may only see the size of the men as they slam into each other and try to drive one another from the ring. Watch closer however, and you will see the magic, behind the subtlety. The plant of the foot. The lock of an elbow. The shift of weight.

The difference in the techniques is very drastic, but the techniques themselves, are a thing of beauty. The elbow strike, the open hand slap.  Both have their place, and their purpose. Much like the Wizard and the Mage.

You can read a little about them under the World of So’Var tab, but the difference between them, I wanted to be enough, to give them their own type of feel.

The Wizard is more of the rough and tumble aspect of magic. Down and dirty, get the job done. Not very refined, but normally, brutally effective.

The Mage is more effective, and refined, in his or her use of magic. The major aspect of the Mage is options. The Mage has many more options in their arsenal of magic than the Wizard, and due to this, the sheer measure of magic that they can bring forth, is what truly sets them apart.

Wizard & Mages. Enjoy what you do.
