I was asked about other holidays and festivals on So’Var, and so I thought I would put a full list here for you. These are the celebrations that are held across So’Var, but do not include those festivals that are local, or regional.

This also shows the months and how they are split through the year.

I hope you enjoy.

Mercy Festival- The Mercy Festival is a function that the Church of The Lady puts on. Members of the church, heal people in need, for free, often sending large groups of healers off into the smaller communities in the outlying countryside.

Many commoners make the journey to the temples, days before the festival begins, just to make sure that they are close by, hoping to increase their chances of being aided.

The festival is celebrated in the same fashion in many places, but certain themes tend to gravitate toward certain regions. The Battle Lands have become the center for the release of weapon designs and implements of warfare, while Set’sorrion is the center for new travel designs and vehicles.

The 10th is a general public release of new things, and for announcing the major designers for the next day.

The 11th is the revealing of the newest designs by the major designers. This is the day many watch as the top designers bring out the newest of their products.

The 12th is a day of awards for the general public and major designers.

Late Summer (August)

8th Day of Late Summer.

Courtesan Day- A day in which a Courtesan, pays for the company of someone they wish to spend time with. This can be a very dangerous thing, so many Courtesans are careful in the practice. It is also a day in which women approach men of their choosing for diner, or some other social event.

This day can lead into the Seduction Festival.

8th and the 9th Day of Late Summer.

Seduction Festival- The Seduction Festival is a celebration in which many try to seduce others, over the course of two days. The seduction that occurs can lead to anything from there, but in the true spirit of the festival, many refuse to allow the one being seduced, sexual gratification of any sort during this time.

These days can lead to the Pleasure Festival.

10th through the 13th Day of Late Summer.

Pleasure Festival- The Pleasure Festival allows those who’s social standing, or those who are married, to partake in the company of another, without social repercussions. This is not to say that all married people, or socially higher standing people do so, but if they do, this is the time when it is alright to do so.

In the spirit of the festival, those who have followed the seduction aspect, allow sexual gratification to those they have seduced, in a very primal, physical sense.

These days lead to the Passion Festival.

Passion Festival- The Passion Festival is an escalation of the social and sexual aspects of the previous festivities, and bring out the emotional aspects of both. The hunt is concluded at Sun’s Down that day, and the beast must be in the announcement area before the drop of the suns, to be counted. The hunter who brings in the largest, or most dangerous beast, wins the hunt. The woman who is the announcer, spends the rest of the evening, in some cases the entire following festival, with the winner of the hunt.
